Role:
To develop individual support programmes for the parents/carers of the children mentored by Chance UK. Provide one-to-one sessions with the parents in their homes and facilitate the process by which realistic targets for change are developed, in a Solution Focused way.
Provide discussion and support groups for these parents/carers.
Use flexibility, creativity, enthusiasm, proactivity, dedication and commitment to engage and build relationships with the parents/carers in order to support them to work towards positive change.
Chance UK’s mission is to improve the lives of primary school aged children with behavioural difficulties who are at risk of developing anti-social or criminal behaviour in the future. Chance UK provide tailored one-to-one mentoring sessions for each child from a trained volunteer adult mentor. The ParentPlus Programme Manager will work to support the parent/carers of the children being mentored by Chance UK.
Requirements:
A recognised degree or professional qualification in social work, child development, psychology, education or related fields or significant professional experience in the voluntary sector or related fieldsMinimum of two years experience working with families, in social work, education, voluntary sector or related fieldsExperience of working with families in need and hard to engage groupsGood communication, interpersonal, computer and team working skills
