So, 'Bigg Boss 7' is over and Gauhar Khan has won. There wasn’t a contest. Tanisha the foot-mat was hardly going to get votes in a year when angry girls stormed Rajpath and demanded to know why Dhrit-rashtra refused to see, why Gandhari had patti on her eyes, why Arjun was quiet. Bigg Boss offers an opportunity, to rise or sink. Gauhar rose, Tanisha sank. Here’s my list for 'Bigg Boss 8' contestants, people who need a chance to sink or rise.

Tarun Tejpal: Tarunji, a megalomaniacal editor should be made to give English/moral science lessons. He must explain how “misreading of a situation” and “lapse of judgement” can lead to an “unfortunate incident” which on one day is “light-hearted banter” but on another an attempted “sexual liaison” with a reluctant party. Also, how does one do “penance that lacerates” oneself?

Shiela Dikshit: Shiela aunty has been so upset since Kejriwal did jhaaru on her fourth term plans, that she should be invited to BB’s house to vent. But producers must not sanction money to her to build a BRT corridor to go to the loo. If they do, they’d better have pots on the way, in case kisi-ko zor ki aayi ho.

Nigella Lawson: Kisi bhi Indian kitchen mein dekh-lo, when Mission Dinner for Friends and Family is underway, it’s a horror show. Cooking-lady’s brows are knitted in the most complicated crochet knot, streams of sweat flow down her face and back, over haldi and tel ke daag. And the kitchen — it’s the epicentre of an earthquake. Hamari desh ki ladies need to learn from Nigellaji how to look sexy while slaving in the kitchen. And how to get away with serving food while licking one’s manicured fingers seductively.

Justice G.S. Singhvi: Before the BJP government makes retired judgesaab the governor of a Northeast state or appoints a one-retired-judge commission to investigate criminal sexual positions, he should explain ki hamare desh ka culture pyaar se itna threaten kyun hota hai.

Devyani Khobragade: We need Devyaniji to share with us how she negotiated salary with Sangeeta — that while she’ll be telling the whole world that Sangeeta will get a huge sum, the actual salary will be much less. If we learn this skill, all of India — MNCs and neighbour aunties — will have a happy new year.

Former actor and son of Rajkumar and Nishi Kohli, Armaan Kohli is a current contestant in 'Bigg Boss 7'. He's already immersed himself into a pit of trouble. He was arrested for allegedly assaulting Sofia Hayat, who was recently evicted from the house. She had filed an FIR against Kohli at Santacruz police station alleging that she was manhandled and subjected to unparliamentary language by him inside the house.

Known to react quickly and fiercely, Armaan was seen exchanging verbal blows with Kushal, Ajaz, Gauhar, Andy and not even sparing ladylove Tanisha. But the worst of his fights were with Sophia. She even claims that he told her 'to fix her face'. British-Pakistani actor Sofia Hayat herself has locked horns with fellow contestants Tanisha and Ajaz Khan, but the worst of all was her altercations was, without a doubt, with Armaan Kohli, which turned ugly and violent. “I will never forget that Armaan hit me in the face with a mop. He is a very violent person and I hate him", she said after being evicted. The Indian version of 'Big Brother' has been gaining popularity by the day. Unlike other reality shows, Bigg Boss claims to be unscripted solely relying on the strange antics of their controversial contestants. Enjoying rather high TRPs from the very first day of the show's premiere telecast, the show's seventh season is almost over! Take a look at the other contestants on Bigg Boss who were made for reality television, quirks, controversies and all, beginning with season one of the show!
Rakhi Sawant: The reigning controversy queen, who shot to stardom after her appearance in the very first season of 'Bigg Boss', stirred havoc in the house. Though ousted earlier on in the competition (4 weeks later), her re-entry (wild card) brought on more harm than good. She was left alienated after a spat with Kashmira Shah, who revealed to other contestants Rakhi's real opinions about them. A confrontation about the allegations saw her being dismissed, yet again.
Salil Ankola: The TV actor was forced to leave the show on day 7 after Ekta Kapoor's Balaji Telefilms threatened criminal charges for participating in show that was being aired on another production house's channel. He was ordered to leave the Bigg Boss house and replaced by Deepak Tijori.
Jane Goody: Jane, who was accused of racism against Shilpa Shetty on the UK version of the show, was invited to be a part of Bigg Boss 2. She obliged, and all seemed well, until day 2, when it was revealed that Jane had cervical cancer and had to leave the show. Jane Goody died on March 22, 2009.
Rahul Mahajan: Already a controversial political figure before his entry to the Bigg Boss house, post his divorce with his first wife, Rahul attempted to present a clean slate from day one.Well that didn't happen. Along with Rahul's romantic link up with his fellow inmates Payal Rohatgi and Monica Bedi, there were other issues that plagued his stay. Violating the rules of the house many-a-times, he was asked to leave. His fan following, however, only grew further.
Monica Bedi: Fresh off a conviction in 2006 for a passport forgery case with fugitive Abu Salem, Monica joined other the Bigg Boss housemates, much to everyone's surprise. The show proved to be a reputation cleanser for Monica, who managed to shake off all the allegations attached to her name prior to Bigg Boss.
Raja Chaudhary: Famously accused of physical assault on his then wife, Shewta Tiwari, Raja faced potholes through his Bigg-Boss journey as well. He reportedly even assaulted fellow contestant Sambhavna Seth on the show. And in 2010 (much after the show), he was arrested for beating his girlfriend Shraddha Sharma.
Kamal Rashid Khan: Bigg Boss's very own angry man, KRK had reputation of exercising his very high temper on many occasions with other housemates.Short-tempered KRK was seen throwing bottles, and uncalled for tantrums with his roommates. His uncontrollable behaviour caused him to be boycotted by housemates and ultimately resulted in him being evicted.
Veena Malik: Probably the most controversial character inside the Bigg Boss's house to have gained as much popularity as she has, Veena's infamous relationship to scarred cricketer Mohammad Asif was the least scandalous things she would be associated with. Her Bigg Boss stay was marred with sensitive video-footage involving a certain housemate Ashmit Patel. They were caught off guard on several occasions in rather compromising positions. She was allegedly entangled in a love triangle with Ashmit and TV actress Sara Khan.
Dolly Bindra: Dolly's over the top persona was only bound to rub everyone off the wrong way during her house stay. But was she capable of inspiring and settling the house at peace during Bigg Boss season 4?Dolly, nicknamed the 'Dolly Bomb' in Bigg Boss 4 house, didn't let anyone live in peace. She fought with almost everyone on the show. Her showdown was with Manoj Tiwari is remembered most of all.
Sakshi Pradhan: There was some serious rumours flying around about Sakshi's pregnancy during her stay in the Bigg Boss house. Things got more suspicious when she was allowed to leave the house and consult a doctor for few days.
Sara Khan: Aside from her tease of a romance with Ashmit Patel on the show, Sara Khan started a new trend on the show. Sara's then boyfriend, Ali Merchant, barged into the Bigg Boss house after being infuriated by what he saw go on between Ashmit and his lady love. Ali proposed marriage to Sara, who accepted. Bigg Boss and its housemates allowed a wedding to take place on telly for public viewing. The couple parted ways soon after the show wrapped up.
Pooja Misra: Entertaining and sometimes scaring audiences, Pooja's antics made headlines almost instantly. Pooja Misra made the phrase 'spare me' more popular than it should have been. Although she didn't really spare many in the Bigg Boss household. She was often seen spewing her wrath on others in the house, fighting and throwing tantrums regularly.
Sunny Leone: Maintaining mystery over her identity thtough most of her Bigg Boss journey, Sunny Leone AKA Karenjit Kaur Vohra, caught her housemates curiosity and apparent adoration rather quickly. As if that weren't enough, Sunny even scored a three-film deal thanks to her stint in the Bigg Boss house. A personalised visit from director Mahesh Bhatt sealed the deal for what seemed like Sunny's fledgling Bollywood career. No other contestant in Bigg Boss has ever been as colourful as
Imam Siddique! Despite all the drama, Imam survived to be a finalist on the show, making his multi-faceted character a favourite among the masses. Who will outdo Imam this season? Watch this space for more!Did you know: Hollywood actress Pamela Anderson and Austrailian cricketer Andrew Symonds made special appearances on Bigg Boss too!
